Which devices work with Kibu headphones?
Kibu headphones plug into any device with a standard 3.5mm headphone port. That includes every Nintendo Switch, the new Yoto Player and Yoto Mini, and most laptops and tablets. Phones and iPads without a headphone port work too, with a small adapter that usually costs under £10.
The one device we know of that doesn't work right now is the Toniebox 2, because it has no headphone port. There's more on that below.

How to check any device
Look for a small round socket, usually with a little headphone symbol next to it. That's a 3.5mm headphone port, sometimes called an aux port or headphone jack. If a device has one, Kibu will work with it.
Kibu headphones are wired, so they don't connect over Bluetooth. A device that only supports Bluetooth headphones won't work with them.
Yoto Player and Yoto Mini
We've tested Kibu with the new Yoto Player and Yoto Mini, and they work straight away. Plug the headphones into the headphone port on the left-hand side of the player.
Yoto's support pages list a 3.5mm headphone port on every current Yoto model, so earlier players work the same way (Yoto: using headphones with your Yoto player).
Nintendo Switch
Every Nintendo Switch has a 3.5mm headphone port, so Kibu plugs straight in. That's the original Switch, the Switch OLED, the Switch Lite and the Switch 2.
Phones and iPads
Most new phones and iPads don't have a headphone port any more. You can still use Kibu with them by adding a small adapter to the charging port.
- USB-C: iPhone 15 and later, iPads with a USB-C port and most Android phones need a USB-C to 3.5mm headphone adapter.
- Lightning: iPhone 7 to iPhone 14, and older iPads without a headphone port, need a Lightning to 3.5mm headphone adapter.
Apple's own USB-C to 3.5mm adapter is sold by UK retailers for roughly £7 to £16, depending on where you buy it. Phone makers and other brands sell similar adapters.
If you choose an unbranded adapter, look for one that says it has a built-in DAC (digital to analogue converter). Some phones only send sound through adapters that have one, so the very cheapest adapters can leave you with no sound at all.
Many older iPads still have a headphone port, so check yours before you buy anything.
One small tip: once you have an adapter, leave it plugged into the end of the headphone cable. It's much harder to lose that way.
Toniebox
The first Toniebox has a standard headphone port, so Kibu works with it.
The Toniebox 2 is different. It has a USB-C port instead of a headphone port. Tonies say that in the UK and Europe, third-party wired headphones can't plug into the Toniebox 2 because of local toy safety rules, and that ordinary USB-C adapters may not work (Tonies: can I use any wired headphones with Toniebox 2?). So for now, Kibu can't be used with a Toniebox 2 through a standard adapter.
Tonies sell their own USB-C to AUX adapter, which they say supports AUX headphones. We haven't tested Kibu with it yet. We'll update this post when we have.
Other devices
Laptops, desktop computers, Chromebooks and tablets with a headphone port all work with Kibu. So do most portable music players.
On planes, most seat-back screens use a standard 3.5mm headphone port. A few older ones have a two-pin socket instead, so it's worth packing an airline adapter if you're not sure.
