Frequently Asked Questions

Kibu headphones are perfect for curious minds aged 4 and up! Whether you're just starting primary school or heading into your teens, these headphones will grow with you. Little builders will need a grownup's helping hands to put them together. It's a brilliant chance to create something amazing together!

WARNING! Contains small parts that could cause choking - not for children under 3 years old. The cable is long and could be dangerous. Always use with a grown-up nearby.

Just like your favourite stretchy jumper, these headphones bend and adjust to fit your head perfectly! We've made the headband super flexible, and the ear cushions are as soft as pillows. They're made from gentle materials that feel nice against your skin, so they can be worn comfortably whether you're listening to a short story or having an all-day adventure.
Building your Kibu headphones is easier than you think! Just follow along with our step-by-step video, and you'll snap everything together piece by piece — no screws, no fiddly wires, just clicks and curiosity. By the end, you'll have built your very own pair of headphones from scratch. Pretty cool, right?
No need to panic — that's what Kibu is built for! Because you built your headphones yourself, you already know how to fix them. Just find the broken part, order a replacement, and snap it back in. Easy. Fixing things is a superpower, and now you've got it. For extra peace of mind, you can add Kibu Care. It covers accidental damage — think knocks, drops, and spills — and includes free replacement parts if something goes wrong. If a fix isn't possible, we'll work out a repair or replacement with you. Making a claim is simple too: just share your order number and a quick photo or video, and we'll take it from there.
Every pair of Kibu headphones has something special built right inside — the Kibu Safety Engine. It works to keep the volume at a safe volume for little ears. It caps sound at 85 decibels, which is the level experts say is safe for children. So you can press play and enjoy, without anyone having to worry.
Safety is baked into every part of Kibu — from the Kibu Safety Engine that keeps volume at a safe level, to the snap-together design with no sharp edges, loose wires, or fiddly screws. We recommend a grown-up joins in during building time, both for safety and because it's much more fun together. Kibu is designed for children aged 3 and up.

WARNING: Contains small parts. Not suitable for children under 3 years old. The cable may pose a strangulation risk. Always supervise young children during use.

Kibu headphones use a 3.5mm headphone jack — the same connector you'll find on most tablets, computers, and audio players. If your device doesn't have one (some newer phones and tablets don't), you'll just need a simple adapter. These are easy to find and usually cost just a few pounds.
Kibu headphones are 3D printed from a special plant-based plastic made from materials like corn. That means instead of using regular plastic, we're turning natural, renewable materials into something brilliant. And because every part can be replaced, repaired, or recycled, nothing goes to waste. Your headphones aren't just good for listening — they're good for the planet too.
Yes! Every pair of Kibu headphones has a sharing port built right in, so you can daisy-chain multiple pairs together. Plug one pair into another, and another into that — everyone gets to listen at once. Perfect for a long car journey or a movie night with friends.
Most headphones are made to be thrown away when something goes wrong. Kibu is different. You build them yourself, so you understand how they work. You can repair them yourself, so nothing gets wasted. They're made from recycled materials, so they're kind to the planet from the very start. And the Kibu Safety Engine keeps your ears safe the whole time. Kibu isn't just a pair of headphones — it's proof that you can make, fix, and care for the things you own.
We deliver to the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, and across Europe including Germany, Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherlands, and Sweden. Please note that orders to European countries may be subject to additional VAT or import fees. For full details on delivery costs and returns, head to our delivery and returns page.
Keeping your Kibu headphones in great shape is really simple. Every now and then, give them a gentle wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth to clear away any dust or fingerprints. Avoid harsh cleaning products, and keep water away from the speakers. A quick check every so often to make sure everything is still snapped together properly is all they need.
Kibu headphones are built for real life — car journeys, plane trips, and everything in between. They're tough, light, and ready to go wherever you go.
When your Kibu headphones have reached the end of their life, don't throw them away — send them back to us. We'll make sure every part is recycled properly, so the materials can go on to become something new. It's the last step in the Kibu loop: build, repair, and recycle.
